Opposite problem: folks at my current job think I've been working there way longer than I have and keep asking if I remember what we did on X project back in 2018. Like sir, that was 8 years ago. I haven't been here half that long.

LOL. My job is the type of place people stay at for an absurdly long time, so it's not uncommon to have people who have been working here for 30+ years. So I get to still be a "new employee" after over 3 years, haha. Which also coincidentally seems to be about the amount of time it takes to actually figure out the job and how everything works. (I figure if I switch jobs into something in the same sphere, it'll take me less time to figure it out.)

I guess it's because that seasonal job I held in 2020 was pretty...strange? To most people? I did vector control, specifically mosquitos. So I set mosquito traps, brought them to the lab for disease tracking, answered complaints, administered larvacide when I found mosquito larvae, and operating the fogging truck when we got positives for West Nile Virus. Which is just so not the job most people expected me to have so it sticks in their head LMAO.

Meanwhile now I just have an office job, that I suppose is harder to remember. Where I work is mostly just exciting to me.
